Two things:

1.  I've always admired people who are natural-born "connectors".   You know of whom I speak:  They seem to know everyone,  effortlessly bringing people together in social and/or business settings, and the rest of us just kind of orbit around them, and are drawn in by their gravity.  The best among them are referred to as "super-connectors".

2.  I am firmly convinced that our hope for survival as a species, as a nation, and as individuals is to become increasingly Green in our lives and in our business practices.   From keeping my reusable grocery bags in the trunk of my car (and not forgetting them at home), to studying for my Eco-Broker Realtor Designation,  I have been taking small, simple steps in both of these areas in my life.

Seattle's Market Relativity

Take that, Los Angeles!

Everything is relative, as Einstein proved, and when things are pretty horrible all over, being not so bad is good.

While we here in Seattle are not as affected by the economic downturn and reeling housing market as much of the rest of the nation, we are still feeling some pain.

That is why it is nice to hear that Seattle has been named Seattle its top U.S. real estate market to watch next year by the Urban Land Institute in its Emerging Trends in Real Estate 2009 report released Oct. 21.

It is not a completely rosy picture. Some of the negatives mentioned were:

Updates of The Umbrian Food Tour '08 with Culinary Communion

As most of you know, I was fortunate enough to spend two weeks in a villa in Umbria this month with Gabriel, Katie, and Adrienne of Culinary Communion, along with a host of very special guests this month.

The big guy on the left is Brian.  He is the head chef at The Cliff House in San Francisco where he is gunning for his first Michelin Star.  Good luck, Brianini!
